David's journey in the building sector began in the mid-1980s. His early years were spent honing his skills under the guidance of master builders, developing a keen eye for detail that would become the hallmark of his career.
In the 1990s, David's expertise took him to the Kimberley region of Western Australia, where he managed several significant government contracts. These projects were not just buildings; they were commitments to community safety and well-being, involving women's safe houses and police station upgrades—a response to the Royal Commission into Black Deaths in Custody.
Returning to the Hawkesbury Region, David's reputation for meticulous attention to detail made him a sought-after figure among local quality builders. He also co-operated the Sunrai Building Group, focusing on custom architectural builds that further honed his expertise in creating unique spaces tailored to each client's desires.
In 2022, with a desire to return to a more personal, one-on-one collaboration with clients, David launched DL Ritherdon Bespoke Builds. Our mission is to deliver not just homes, but dreams—crafted with precision, quality, and a collaborative spirit that ensures each project is as unique as the individuals we serve.

The Ritherdons have balanced their professional achievements with a strong family ethos, raising six children with the values of hard work and perseverance. They take particular pride in their role as parents, especially in nurturing two of their children to pursue careers in construction, thereby extending the Ritherdon legacy into the next generation.
